“It Never Rains in Southern California” is a 1972 song written by Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood and sung by Hammond, a British-born singer-songwriter. Instrumental backing was provided by L.A. session musicians from the Wrecking Crew.[2] The song appears on Hammond’s album It Never Rains in Southern California and peaked at number five on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

In the UK, the song is perhaps the quintessential example of a turntable hit: a song that, although very frequently played and requested on radio, never makes it into the charts. Through the 1970s, the record was reissued at least five times by various labels but never charted, despite yet more airplay, and is still frequently heard on UK radio.

The song concerns the struggles of an actor who moves to California to pursue a career in Hollywood but does not have any success and deteriorates in the process. In the chorus, Hammond sings: “It never rains in California, but girl don’t they warn ya. It pours, man, it pours.”

In 1989, Hammond re-recorded the song for his Best of Me greatest hits compilation.[3]

Southern California (colloquially known as SoCal) is a geographic and cultural region that generally comprises California‘s southernmost counties.[1][2] The region is traditionally described as eight counties, based on demographics and economic ties: Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.[3] The more extensive 10-county definition, which includes Kern and San Luis Obispo counties, is also used and is based on historical political divisions.[1]

The 8-county and 10-county definitions are not used for the greater Southern California Megaregion, one of the 11 megaregions of the United States. The megaregion is more expansive, extending east into Las Vegas, Nevada and south across the Mexican border into Tijuana.[4]

Southern California includes the heavily built-up urban area which stretches along the Pacific coast from Ventura through the Greater Los Angeles area and the Inland Empire, and down to Greater San Diego. Southern California’s population encompasses seven metropolitan areas: the Los Angeles metropolitan area (Los Angeles and Orange counties), the Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernardino counties), the San Diego metropolitan area, the Oxnard–Thousand Oaks–Ventura metropolitan area, the Santa Barbara metropolitan area, the San Luis Obispo metropolitan area, and the El Centro area. The Los Angeles area has over 12 million inhabitants, while the Riverside-San Bernardino area has over 4 million inhabitants and the San Diego area has over 3 million inhabitants. For Combined Statistical Area (CSA) purposes, the five counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura, are all combined to make up the Greater Los Angeles area with over 17.5 million people, the second-most populous U.S. combined statistical area, after the New York metropolitan area. With over 22 million people, southern California contains roughly 60 percent of California’s population.

The Colorado Desert and the Colorado River are located on southern California’s eastern border with Arizona, and the Mojave Desert is located north on California’s Nevada border. Southern California’s southern border is part of the Mexico–United States border.

Silicon Valley (abbreviated as SV) is a region in the southern San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California, referring to the Santa Clara Valley, which serves as the global center for high technology, venture capital, innovation, and social media. San Jose is the Valley’s largest city, the 3rd-largest in California, and the 10th-largest in the United States. Other major SV cities include Palo Alto, Santa Clara, Mountain View, and Sunnyvale. The San Jose Metropolitan Area has the third highest GDP per capita in the world (after Zurich, Switzerland and Oslo, Norway), according to the Brookings Institution.[1]

The word “silicon” originally referred to the large number of silicon chip innovators and manufacturers in the region, but the area is now the home to many of the world’s largest high-tech corporations, including the headquarters of 39 businesses in the Fortune 1000, and thousands of startup companies. Silicon Valley also accounts for one-third of all of the venture capital investment in the United States, which has helped it to become a leading hub and startup ecosystem for high-tech innovation and scientific development. It was in the Valley that the silicon-based integrated circuit, the microprocessor, and the microcomputer, among other key technologies, were developed. As of 2013, the region employed about a quarter of a million information technology workers.[2]

As more high-tech companies were established across San Jose and the Santa Clara Valley, and then north towards the Bay Area’s two other major cities, San Francisco and Oakland, the “Silicon Valley” has come to have two definitions: a geographic one, referring to Santa Clara County, and a metonymical one, referring to all high-tech businesses in the Bay Area. The term is now generally used as a synecdoche for the American high-technology economic sector. The name also became a global synonym for leading high-tech research and enterprises, and thus inspired similar named locations, as well as research parks and technology centers with a comparable structure all around the world.

July 9, 2018, 8:30am.  About Me.  Last Friday, July 6, 2018, while the roofers were spraying and hosing some of the bricks (here at YWCA Brooklyn), I felt easy button laser beam pain in my head—somebody inside was pressing an easy button laser beam.  Not Rosemary, who was coincidentally in the bathroom wearing her STAFF t-shirt, cleaning the bathroom, it was somebody else, in her room; the easy button laser beam is probably on her cell phone.   The sound of the brush scraping the bricks exacerbated the pain.  (Right now, 8:55am, the resident in room 1112 is talking really loudly.  Incredibly, I can hear her loud voice three windows from mine!  (I won’t ask her if her could lower her voice because approximately two weeks ago I knocked on her door and asked her if she could not talk so loudly.  Ten minutes later a Samaritan Village employee informed me that I’m not supposed talk to Samaritan Village residents!)  While the resident in room 1112 is talking loudly, I’m feeling easy button laser beam pain in my head and easy button laser beam perspiration on my face.  Now, 9am, besides her loud voice, also, sirens are blaring outside!  cc all Mormon barristers!!)

Most of the bricks in the above photo are wet from hosing.  The roofers scraped and hosed for approximately one hour or so, or maybe longer; I had my window shades down and am only aware of their presence if I hear sounds. I did not hear the scaffolding being lowered to the 8th floor.

Later in the day, the bricks were wet again from “super technology” weather modification rain..  The rain came suddenly, and in such large drops, rain pelts!

Rain drops, YWCA Brooklyn, Friday, July 6, 2018, approximately 5pm or 6pm.  (The gray is my window sill; I was traying to capture the large raindrops dropping on the window sill.)

While these large super technology rain drops were falling, my window shades were flapping loudly, almost violently, against the window screen vis easy button laser beam, I was feeling easy button laser beam shocks in my body, including my head, and easy button laser beam pain in my head.

These are pictures of white plastic billowing (like a banner of some sort) and flapping loudly almost violently against the bricks when easy button laser beam gusty wind was blowing, Saturday morning:

Lyrics
1. The morning breaks, the shadows flee;
Lo, Zion’s standard is unfurled!
The dawning of a brighter day,
The dawning of a brighter day
Majestic rises on the world.
2. The clouds of error disappear
Before the rays of truth divine;
The glory bursting from afar,
The glory bursting from afar
Wide o’er the nations soon will shine.
3. The Gentile fulness now comes in,
And Israel’s blessings are at hand.
Lo, Judah’s remnant, cleansed from sin,
Lo, Judah’s remnant, cleansed from sin,
Shall in their promised Canaan stand.
4. Jehovah speaks! Let earth give ear,
And Gentile nations turn and live.
His mighty arm is making bare,
His mighty arm is making bare
His cov’nant people to receive.
5. —Angels from heav’n and truth from earth
Have met, and both have record borne;
Thus Zion’s light is bursting forth,
Thus Zion’s light is bursting forth
To bring her ransomed children home.

This is a picture of Amos:

Amos the dog, 4th Avenue near Staples, July 8, 2018.

This is a picture of Amos’ owner’s t-shirt.  When I asked him what is his dog’s name and he told me, Amos, I noticed his accent so I asked him where is he from originally.  He’s originally from Spain, so I mentioned to him that, two weeks ago I met a tourist couple from Spain.  (I assumed he, like so many young people today [victims of Satan’s snares], does not believe in God’s Word the Holy Bible and his parents are probably Catholic and Catholics are not at all familiar with Holy Bible prophecies (many Protestants are familiar with Holy Bible prophecies, but not with an accurate understanding), so, I did not ask him if he is familiar with the prophet Amos.)  This man is now a plaintiff in a legal case against Berkshire Hathaway, Accenture, Citi, JPMorganChase, Verizon and other corporations including the Mormon Church of Satan.  cc all Mormon barristers

Later, as I continued walking to Staples, I remembered, I did not meet a couple from Spain, I met a man from Spain and his wife who is originally from Colombia, a very beautiful woman, and a very genuinely pleasant friendly smile.  They and their four or five year old daughter sat at the table next to me, in Pret a Manager, two weeks ago, the Saturday two police officers were outside measuring the distance from a Muslim food vendor cart to a fire hydrant.  Theirs is a May December marriage, he’s old enough to be her father, and thensome.  At the end table sat another strikingly beautiful woman; the man from Spain told me she and her seven or eight year old daughter are from Iceland.  She and her daughter looked like models for some healthy wholesome advertisement, though my perception changed when they two walked out of the restaurant, the backs of their dresses with a criss cross strap exposing their upper backs.  I sensed that something was wrong.  (Which is what I sensed when I saw, a few days earlier, on Donna Summer musical line, two white males and a six or seven year old white girl wearing heels that were, in my opinion, too high for a six or seven year old, on line to see a musical that is, in my opinion, not appropriate for a six or seven year old to see, or rather, hear.  Though I did not like what I saw I did not take a picture of the three of them.)  I hope the Colombian woman and the Icelandic woman or the three girls are not punished because of this that I write.  I hope my perception is off base.  Such things only happen in the movies, or in books.  Such things don’t happen in real life, right?  What right have I to judge anyone?  Everybody mentioned herein is a plaintiff in a legal case against Berkshire Hathaway, Accenture, Citi for sure, JPMorganChase, Verizon and other corporations including the Mormon Church of Satan.  cc all Mormon barristers

After the man from Spain and his wife and daughter left, I had a brief conversation with a another tourist.  She and three other older white women were vacationing.  When I noticed their accent, I asked where are they from.  Kentucky.  I had a brief conversation with the woman who was sitting next to me.  (They four sat at two tables. I sat at one table.)   I asked her, “If Caroline Kennedy was officially running for president, in the year 2020, would you vote for her?”  She told me she’s a Republican, she voted for Trump.  She likes Trump because he “puts his foot down”.  She also said something or other that she could not say if she would or would not vote for Caroline Kennedy because she doesn’t know anything about her.  I truly appreciated her honesty, and her openmindedness.

Trump just might be reelected because midwestern whites and southern whites want a president who will put his (or her) foot down.  The perception of many African Americans and many Hispanic Americans is not the perception of many European Americans.  (For example, Hispanic Americans: It is not in your best interests to have everything available to you in Spanish, at government expense, for two reasons: (1) you alienate people who consider this an English speaking nation, and (2) you become less proficient in understanding the English language, which is of utmost importance.  Another example, African Americans: While you feel “empowered” by your outlandish Afrocentric hairstyles and Black Panther/Black Power fist (Queen Bey) and raphiphop culture, European Americans feel threatened.)

I’m glad I had the manners, the common sense, to not say anything more, to let her enjoy lunch with her friends.  One of her friends mentioned something or other about Professor Higgins.  I’m glad I had the manners to not ask if they were going to see one of my very favorite musicals, My Fair Lady.  (Yes, I’m guilty of “acting white”!)

Servants Poor Professor Higgins!

Poor Professor Higgins! Night and day
He slaves away! Oh, poor Professor Higgins!
All day long On his feet; Up and down until he’s numb;
Doesn’t rest; Doesn’t eat;
Doesn’t touch a crumb! Poor Professor Higgins!
Poor Professor Higgins! On he plods Against all odds;
Oh, poor Professor Higgins! Nine p.m. Ten p.m.
On through midnight ev’ry night.
One a.m. Two a.m. Three…! Quit, Professor Higgins!
Quit, Professor Higgins! Hear our plea
Or payday we Will quit, Professor Higgins!
Ay not I, O not Ow, Pounding pounding in our brain.
Ay not I, O not Ow, Don’t say “Rine,” say “Rain”…Eliza

The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain!
Henry By George, she’s got it! By George, she’s got it!
Now, once again where does it rain? Eliza On the plain!
On the plain! Henry And where’s that soggy plain?
Eliza In Spain! In Spain! The three
The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain!
The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain! Henry
In Hartford, Hereford, and Hampshire…?
Eliza Hurricanes hardly happen.
How kind of you to let me come! Henry
Now once again, where does it rain?
